Experience Engineering for an Array of Applications
There is no standard sealing system that works for all products, so Ultrafab’s specialty products division provides innovative and timely solutions for a broad variety of applications.
With a wide range of sealing products at various price points, we can work with you to develop the most cost-effective solution for your application needs.
Medical Equipment
We work with OEMs to reduce cycle time and material cost on their healthcare and medical devices by engineering specialty brush and sealing products.
Light Seals for X-Ray Imaging and Analytic Devices

Common Application Include:
- Developer cassette panel seals
- Blinder brushes on entry ways for cassettes or other image media.
- Light shields in blood analysis equipment.
Fiber Texture, type and density can be varied to provide optimized light sealing capability. Secondary assembly and integrated mounting configurations are also available to reduce cost, design complexity and increase throughput.
Pharmaceutical Cleaning Brushes

- Variable density allows for proper treatment of any surface regardless of how aggressive or delicate the need.
- Increased flexibility conforms to any contour.
- ALL PLASTIC design helps to minimize dangers of surface cuts and abrasions.
- Patented ultrasonic welding process ensures fiber integrity.
Added features such as custom molded handles and tip protectors can be integrated in to provide compact designs and cost reductions associated to component reduction.
Extruded Compression Seals

Common Applications Include:
- Extruded instrument trays and inserts.
- Enclosure compression and leaf seals.
- Kerf, dart or clip mounted pile seals.
Single-Use Kits for Bioprocessing Systems

- Reduce labor costs associated in house assembly.
- Prototype small quantities up through large production volumes.
- Consolidated vendor management of multiple sub-components.
- Typical Components: Masterflex®, Pharmed® tubing, clamps, luer, swabable valves and filters.
Industrial & Energy
We work with OEMs to reduce cycle time and material cost on their industrial, technology, and energy devices by engineering specialty brush and sealing products.
Light Shields for Industrial, Architectural and Commercial Lighting Fixtures

Product density can be adjusted to provide proper compression during actuation, allowing for lower friction during movement and less binding of the mating sheet metal panels. Also, with a customizable pile height and independent fiber construction, compression rates over long lengths effectively overcome any variation in gap tolerance to keep a consistent light seal that will not distort the enclosure.
Blinder Brushes for Telecom, Server Cabinets and Wiring Devices

Energy Recovery Cartridge Seals

- Integrated mounting tab reduces the need for additional mounting components.
- All plastic design resists corrosion.
Static Elimination Brushes for Automation Lines

Common Applications Include:
- High speed conveyor lines.
- Sheet line extrusion equipment.
- Robotic pick and place machines
Roller Brushes for Industrial and Agricultural Processing
Various roller brush configurations are used for agricultural cleaning and processing for produce and vegetables, as well as for applicators, product guidance and transportation along conveyor lines.
Extruded Seals for Enclosures

Common Applications Include:
- Vent seals used for poultry, dairy and horticulture.
- Enclosure compression seals for HVAC, fuels cells and refrigeration.
- Edge and corner trim for sheetmetal edges.
Office Equipment
We work with OEMs to reduce cycle time and material cost on their office equipment applications by engineering specialty brush and sealing products.
Active Cleaning Brushes

Common Application Include:
- Paper pick and feed roller cleaning brushes.
- Pen head scrubber brushes.
- Wipers for optical feed and position sensors.
- Toner removal brushes.
Fiber Texture, type and density can be adjusted to provide and aggressive or fine cleaning mechanism to suit a wide range of surface conditions. Secondary assembly and integrated mounting configurations are also available to reduce cost, design complexity and increase throughput.
Toner Seals

Swept direct of fibers helps retain toner particles more easily, thus enhancing image quality.
Low friction materials provide less resistance against feed rollers, or photoreceptor drums.
With a varied range of thicknesses to choose from, a custom configuration can be designed to provide the proper gap sealing for any design.
Roller Brush Assemblies

Brushes to Eliminate Static

Common Applications Include:
- Feed tray static elimination brushes.
- Static elimination in thermal label and receipt printers.
- Kiosk / POS card swipe assemblies.
- ATM printers and cash dispensing assemblies.
Extruded Enclosure Components

Common Applications Include:
- Drawer slide assemblies.
- Paper tray enclosure compression and leaf seals.
- Kerf, dart or clip mounted pile seals.
- Edge and corner trim for sheetmetal edges.
Transportation
We work with OEMs to reduce cycle time and material cost on their transportation components by engineering specialty brush and sealing products.
Blinder Brushes

Common Applications Include:
- Black out brushes for consoles and shifter assemblies.
- Brush grommets for lighting assemblies and firewall cable management.
- Rotational shaft seals.
Sweep Seals for Mass Transit Entryways

- Integrated mounting tab reduces the need for additional mounting components.
- All plastic design resists corrosion. Profiles

From Idea to Production
HOW IT WORKS:

01 Request Assistance (YOU ARE HERE)
Email us with details of your idea/design.
One of our Product Managers (PM) will be paired up with you. We have PMs for each of our lines who are experts in their speciality.

02 Initial Review
Design/drawings are reviewed (and we work with most CAD softwares).
For fenestration type projects, we can provide you with seal drawings in the required format so that you can import them right into your profile drawings.
Note: If you have a sealing system problem, let us take a look. Our SWAT team mentality will help solve the problem quickly.

03 Concurrent Engineering Effort
If needed, Product Managers will visit your lab or manufacturing facility. However, in most cases, a prototype, sample or mock-up is quickly provided to determine if proposed solution makes sense in actual design.

04 Modify and Test
Reiterate step 3 as needed to develop the most cost-effective solution.
Our test lab gives us the ability to work on the problem for you without the high cost of going to an independent lab until you are ready for final testing and approval.
If your own internal lab is overrun with projects, we can also help. All we need is the unit to be tested and the test protocol required and we can get started.
Join us in our lab, we enjoy having our customers on site during testing.

05 Approve Final Design
Eureka! Always satisfying once the design is approved and cleared to move into the production stage.
No Time to Waste! Let's Engineer Together
Send your drawings to our Product Manager and we will assist you with selecting an existing standard seal or designing a custom solution.
