Ultrafab Introduces Hybrid Dust Plugs – Combine the performance of pile, extrusions and foam

Ultrafab introduces a new line of dust plugs that are made from multiple materials to address complex sealing needs. Plugs are designed with a foam pad in one area of the plug where straight compression sealing is needed and with pile on another area of the plug where active sealing is needed and the surface being sealed against is moveable. The result is one dust plug that can be used in applications requiring both types of sealing needs.

Hybrid Dust Plugs from Ultrafab can be produced continuous on a reel, kiss cut for quick removal from a continuous backing material or cut to length and ready to install. Multiple adhesive options are available so that the plug can be used on a wide range of substrate materials. High performance 3M adhesives are utilized for the most demanding applications, foamed adhesives for vinyl surfaces and hot melt adhesive for wood surfaces.

Ultrafab, Inc. announces UltraStop™ the cost effective pile that inhibits the growth of mold and mildew on your sealing system

UltraStopUltrafab, Inc. announces a new addition to their ever growing line of premium pile weatherseals. UltraStop™ pile weatherseals are manufactured with a micro biocide additive that will inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the weatherseal itself. The new product is a lower cost option for applications that do not require all of the high performance properties of Ultrafab’s very successful Gold Series pile product line that also has a micro biocide in addition to advanced UV properties and the ink jet marking on the backing. The UltraStop™ line is designed for everyday fenestration applications when the user wants to eliminate the potential for the growth of mold and mildew on the weatherseal. The premium Gold Series is a multi- faceted product designed for the most demanding applications that require both a micro biocide and extreme UV properties. Both products exceed the highest performance rating of AAMA standard 701-2004. UltraStop™ is the latest example of Ultrafab’s focused effort to offer cost effective innovative sealing solutions to meet the performance demands of today’s state of the art fenestration products.


Ultrafab Weatherseal Backing Options

Ultra Fill backing optionsUltrafab, Inc. continues to develop unique pile backing options that are designed for effective insertion and retention in PVC, pultruded and aluminum profiles. Ultrafab offers a number of PVC extruders backing options and has increased the capacity for two very successful configurations.

The first of these configurations, UltraPro® backing option, introduced in 2007 and widely accepted, features a radius on the pile backing. This allows for in-line, continuous insertion into PVC extrusions.

Recently, Ultrafab included the UltraFill® backing option to it’s product line-up. UltraFill combines our UltraPro backing configuration with a semi-rigid material added to increase friction. Once pile is inserted in the profile the UltraFill® feature eliminates movement of pile during window processing.
